INSIDEOUT

This collection displays how one can find beauty within something that is categorized as ugly. One big example is trash polluting our everyday lives. Trash suffocates our earth. In my collection I collected trash off of the streets in Savannah, GA and incorporated it into my pieces through prints and encapsulating it between vinyl layers to show that it can be pretty too when seen in a different perspective.

Trash heavily harms our oceans; it pollutes the surface which can leave humans forgetting that there is beautiful ocean life underneath. This subject can feel very heavy when talked about because all of the trash and pollutants cannot be cleaned up in a day. I wanted to reflect that feeling in my garments, by “weighing” them down using beads and actual trash.
