As long as I can remember I have always been interested in fashion and I was constantly filling up sketchbooks of designs. When I was younger, I would take inspiration from celebrity designers to design my garments. These designs never came off the pages of the sketchbook until later in life.
When I was in high school, I attended a program called BOCES, I completed a 2-year program studying and learning about fashion design and merchandising. I was then awarded a membership in the National Technical Honor Society. It was from then on that I found inspiration in nature and past experiences. I also take a lot of inspiration from Italian designers since 50% of my family lives in Italy.
After high school, I attended Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts studying Fashion Design. In college classes, I found I was most interested in designing and manipulating textiles. This is what defined my designs. I have worked with embroidery, beaded embroidery, quilting, resin, applying heat to different fabrics, printing, and dying.
During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my dog who I rescued. Some of my hobbies include collecting rare houseplants, taking care of neighbors’ dogs, volunteering, thrifting and hiking. I regularly find inspiration from designers who work in sustainability and see how I can apply that to my everyday life and work. Taking that into mind I also find pleasure in creating digital designs and I am always trying to perfect that skill.
